Itinerary

Approximate timings — based on the activity description

    Arrive in Marrakech, meet your guide, and check in at your hotel or riad.

    Ride through beautiful Berber villages to Imi n’Waqqa (1817m) and spend the night in a cozy guesthouse.

  3. 3

    Ride through Tarbat n’Tirsal and cross the scenic Tizi n’Tighist Pass (2400m), known for its ancient rock carvings.

  4. 4

    Continue down to the colorful landscapes of Abachkou (1750m) and follow the Assif Ait Boulli Valley to Agouti (1760m), the gateway to the beautiful Ait Bouguemez “Happy Valley.” Overnight in a local guesthouse or camp.

    Enjoy a thrilling 1000m descent into the Assamsouq Valley, ending in the peaceful village of Zawyat Ahansal for an overnight stay.

    After drinking these in, enjoy a stunning winding descent to the bottom of the valley and along the river, which takes you next to the village of Imi n'Ouareg.

    At the end of the gorge, reach the village of Anergui and explore this stunning region along the Assif Melloul or ‘White River’ known for its beautiful villages.

    On day 6, head along 50km of wild, steep trails, to the high ridges of Roud N' Iroul Pass (2480m) and cross the highland territories of the nomads before riding into the high-altitude villages of Tasrafte, Ait Abdi, and Imilchil before camping on the shores of Lake Tislit.

    From Tasrafte, head back to Marrakech.

    After breakfast, enjoy 2 hours of biking before heading back to where you are staying in the city.

Full description

Day 1: Marrakech Arrive in Marrakech, meet your guide, and check in at your hotel or riad. Spend the night in Marrakech. Day 2: Marrakech – Imlil – Tachddirt Travel by minibus from Marrakech toward Demnate, crossing the natural bridge of Imi n’Ifri (1100m) and the Tizi n’Amarskine Pass (2012m). Ride through beautiful Berber villages to Imi n’Waqqa (1817m) and spend the night in a cozy guesthouse. (150 km transfer / 38 km biking) Day 3: Imi n’Waqqa – Tizi n’Tighist – Abachkou – Agouti (Happy Valley): Ride through Tarbat n’Tirsal and cross the scenic Tizi n’Tighist Pass (2400m), known for its ancient rock carvings. Continue down to the colorful landscapes of Abachkou (1750m) and follow the Assif Ait Boulli Valley to Agouti (1760m), the gateway to the beautiful Ait Bouguemez “Happy Valley.” Overnight in a local guesthouse or camp. (51 km biking) Day 4: Bouguemez – Tizi’n Tirghist Pass – Assamsouq Valley – Zawyat Ahansal: Cycle from Bouguemez through the scenic Tizi’n Tirghist Pass (2629m) with breathtaking views of M’Goun and the Happy Valley. Enjoy a thrilling 1000m descent into the Assamsouq Valley, ending in the peaceful village of Zawyat Ahansal for an overnight stay. (71 km biking) Day 5: Zawyat Ahansal - Mestefrane Rock - Imi n'Ouareg - Assif Melloul - Anergui Travel down the beautiful River Zawyat, passing beautiful scenery and even a few villages with Tighremt, or ‘fortified houses’. Eventually, bear to the right and begin a gradual mountainside ascent which will afford you views of the impressive Cirque of Taghia and in front of you, the imposing Mestefrane Rock, known as the ‘Cathedral’. After drinking these in, enjoy a stunning winding descent to the bottom of the valley and along the river, which takes you next to the village of Imi n'Ouareg. The journey will have a wilder feel as you enter the Assif Melloul. The route follows a path carved into the rock that rises steadily along the river. Sometimes, and with a bit of luck, you may come across the Macaque monkeys that have made their homes in the cliffs. At the end of the gorge, reach the village of Anergui and explore this stunning region along the Assif Melloul or ‘White River’ known for its beautiful villages. After 74km of riding mountain bikes, rest and spend the night in Anergui. Day 6: Anergui - Roud N' Iroul Pass - Tasrafte - Ait Abdi - Imilchil - Lake Tislit On day 6, head along 50km of wild, steep trails, to the high ridges of Roud N' Iroul Pass (2480m) and cross the highland territories of the nomads before riding into the high-altitude villages of Tasrafte, Ait Abdi, and Imilchil before camping on the shores of Lake Tislit. Day 7: Lake Tislit - Tasrafte - Marrakech From Tasrafte, head back to Marrakech. After breakfast, enjoy 2 hours of biking before heading back to where you are staying in the city.
