From Fes: 2-Day Merzouga Desert Tour with Camel Ride

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Depart from Fes early in the morning in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle and travel through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains. Make your first stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before continuing to the famous cedar forest near Azrou, where you may see Barbary macaques in their natural environment. Continue through the mountains towards Midelt, where you will have free time for lunch. In the afternoon, travel through spectacular mountain and desert landscapes before stopping at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the beautiful Ziz Valley, famous for its extensive palm groves. Continue through Erfoud and Rissani before arriving in Merzouga, at the edge of the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. In Merzouga, meet your camel caravan and begin an unforgettable camel ride across the golden Sahara dunes. Stop among the dunes to admire the sunset over Erg Chebbi before continuing to your desert camp. At the camp, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music around the campfire, sandboarding and a peaceful evening under the stars. Spend the night in your desert camp. Day 2: Merzouga – Sunrise – Breakfast – Return to Fes Wake up early to experience the spectacular sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After sunrise, return to the camp and enjoy breakfast before preparing for the journey back to Fes. Leave Merzouga and travel north through the Ziz Valley and the beautiful landscapes of the Middle Atlas. There will be stops along the journey for breaks, photographs and lunch at your own expense. Continue through Midelt, the cedar forest and Ifrane before arriving back in Fes in the evening.
