Embark on a remarkable 3-day journey connecting Marrakech and Tangier through Morocco's most iconic landscapes. Experience the High Atlas Mountains, the vast Erg Chebbi dunes of the Sahara, an overnight stay in historic Fes, and 4 hours exploring the world-famous blue medina of Chefchaouen. Day 1: Marrakech – Merzouga Sahara Camp Departure: ~6:00 AM(more or less) from your designated meeting point in Marrakech. Begin your drive southeast into the High Atlas Mountains, ascending the dramatic winding roads of the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Pass traditional Berber villages and cascading mountain scenery. Pass through Ouarzazate ("the Hollywood of Africa"), travel along the vibrant Valley of the Roses, and wind past the unique rock formations of the Dades Valley. Arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga, where you’ll be welcomed at a local kasbah with hot Moroccan mint tea. Meet your local guide and embark on a camel trek to high dune vantage points to witness a breathtaking Sahara sunset (be sure to carry a bottle of water on the trek). Arrive at your comfortable Berber desert camp for the night. Enjoy delicious traditional dinner, and an evening around the campfire filled with live local drum music under a blanket of stars. Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Fes Rise early for an optional walk atop the sand dunes to catch a peaceful desert sunrise. Enjoy breakfast at the camp before departing the desert. Begin the long, scenic drive north towards Fes, making scheduled stops for lunch in Midelt (lunch is optional), rest, and photo opportunities. Arrive in Fes around 8:00 PM (depending on traffic) for an evening rest and overnight stay at your riad. Day 3: Fes – Chefchaouen – Tangier Drop-off After breakfast, your driver picks you up directly from your accommodation in Fes to head north through the scenic Rif Mountains. Arrive in Chefchaouen (the Blue Pearl) and enjoy approximately 4 hours of free time to explore at your own pace: Wander through the iconic blue alleyways of the medina.
