Ouarzazate: Kasbah, Valleys & Erg Lihoudi Desert Trip 2 days

Day 1: Ouarzazate – Erg Lihoudi Dunes After breakfast, begin your journey south across the Anti-Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi-n-Tinfifite Pass (1660 m) with sweeping views of Agdz and the endless palm groves of the Dra’a Valley. Take the scenic off-road route through the valley, where ancient kasbahs rise among lush oases and traditional Berber villages. Continue south to M’hamid, the gateway to the Sahara and the last village before the open desert. By late afternoon, arrive at the Erg Lihoudi dunes and settle into your desert camp with a welcome tea and Moroccan biscuits. Then set out on a camel trek to the summit of the dunes, where the vast silence of the Sahara and a magical sunset await. Return to camp for dinner under the stars, followed by an evening of nomadic music and drumming around the campfire. Spend the night in your private tent, complete with ensuite bathroom, king-sized bed, soft furnishings, and authentic Moroccan décor—designed to make your stay both comfortable and memorable. Day 2: Erg Lihoudi Dunes – Ouarzazate Wake early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, a breathtaking play of light and shadows. After breakfast, wander the sand one last time before returning north. In Tamgroute, visit the famous green-pottery workshops and the ancient Quranic library, home to centuries-old manuscripts. Lunch is served in Zagora, the largest town before the Sahara. In the afternoon, explore the historic Kasbah Tamnougalt, once a thriving fortified village and caravan stop in the Dra’a Valley. Finally, travel back across the Anti-Atlas Mountains, arriving in Ouarzazate by late afternoon, where your driver will return you to your hotel. Your 2-day Sahara adventure ends with memories of kasbahs, palm groves, and golden dunes.
