Marrakech: Ourika Sunset walk & Dinner Under the Stars

Departure from Marrakech around 2:00pm — after the morning tour groups have already come and gone. The drive into the Ourika valley takes about an hour. The road follows the river south into the Atlas foothills, and the traffic clears completely once you pass the first hour. First stop is a panoramic point above the valley at around 1,400 meters. The afternoon light at this hour hits the terraced fields from the west — completely different from the flat overhead light the morning groups see. We stay as long as the group wants. In Setti Fadma, we walk the riverside path — flat, easy, alongside the Ourika river through walnut and fig trees. The path goes past the village water mill that has been grinding grain since before anyone installed a road to get here. Dinner is at a family terrace above the river — the same family our team has worked with for years. Tagine cooked on charcoal, Berber soup, fresh bread, seasonal salads, and mint tea. The food is prepared when we arrive, not when a larger group schedule decides it's time to eat. We sit as the sun drops behind the valley ridge and the temperature drops with it. The argan cooperative stop is optional. Return to Marrakech by 9pm. Small group, maximum 15 people.
