The Secrets of the Valleys:Best 2-Day Ouirgane-imoghlad Trek

Begin your trek in Ouirgane and make your way through the peaceful Azzaden Valley, one of the most scenic and less crowded areas of the range. This part of the Atlas is known for its terraced fields, walnut groves, and traditional Berber villages where daily life still follows long-established rhythms. Over two days, gradually make your way toward imoghlad, a well-known base for trekkers heading into the High Atlas. While many people come here to attempt Mount Toubkal, your route deliberately avoids the more strenuous summit paths, focusing instead on gentler terrain and quieter trails. Enjoy dramatic mountain scenery as you pass through authentic villages rather than tourist-heavy routes. The elevation gain is manageable, so it feels restorative rather than exhausting. This trek is ideal if you want a taste of the Atlas Mountains without committing to the intensity of a summit climb. 1 Day Ouirgane Valley to Tizi Oussem A taxi will pick you up from your hotel in Marrakesh and bring you to the village of Ouirgane, the starting point of this trekking. From here, we enter the Toubkal National Park, passing beautiful gardens, agriculture terraces, and walnut trees. After a lunch picnic in which we will prepare you a tajine, we will continue our hike to Tizi Oussem. It’s an intermediate climb to our destination of this day. After arriving, there will be enough time to explore the village before having dinner and spending the night in a Berber house. 2 Day Through the imoughlad Valley and back to Marrakesh After breakfast with homemade bread, we leave the Berber village and steadily climb to Tizi oudid. From there, we descend to village imoughlad, our final hike destination. We will arrive here after 4 to 5 hours of hiking. In imoughlad, we will meet with the driver that will bring you back to your accommodation in Marrakesh.
